Material Officer at the Swedish Armed Forces

About the Unit
The Uppland and Västmanland Group (UVG) trains and administers the Home Guard and national protection forces, as well as supports volunteer organizations within Uppland and Västmanland counties. The Home Guard units supported by UVG are the 21st and 22nd Home Guard Battalions, the 214th Hvund Company, the 215th Hv Music Corps, and the 224th Hv Music Corps. UVG is part of the Central Military Region (MR M).
Main Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Participate in material inventories and inspections.
- Support the Home Guard Battalions regarding material issues and material maintenance.
- Good material knowledge to understand the overall systems used.
- Monitor and report on FM internal systems (LIFT, SAP) on behalf of the units.
- Responsible for inventory in internal systems for at least one battalion.
- Together with material handlers assist units with: Training and execution of basic inspections (GT).
- Structure and management of physical inventories.
- Handle orders and needs assessment for at least one battalion.
- Be part of the command and support group during unit exercises.
- Perform other tasks as needed within the unit.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Education at least at the high school level
- Good computer skills and strong administrative ability
- Good knowledge of Prio, LIFT, and the Office suite
- Ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish
- Driving license B
- Work experience in handling materials in digital tracking systems
Personal Attributes
We are looking for someone who is solution-oriented, responsible, and has a good ability to switch between details and the big picture. You should be comfortable working independently as well as in a team. The role of Material Officer involves a lot of collaboration with different units and individuals, so we value strong communication skills. You need to be structured, meticulous, and able to plan and prioritize your work effectively, even in situations with many tasks or when conditions change.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
DESIRABLE
- Experience from the Swedish Armed Forces or the activities of voluntary defense organizations.
- Military driving licenses
- Driving license C
Other Information
Employment type: Permanent position. The Swedish Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those not currently employed by the agency.
Employment level: Full-time.
Work location: Enköping/Uppsala (the position involves periods of absence from the work location).
Start date: By agreement.
Salary: Individual salary setting.
The position may involve travel (mainly within Sweden), recurring readiness, and participation in exercises.
Upon employment, you will receive combat training and be assigned to the position and cannot combine this with another military assignment.
